Shri Shri Shava Shiva Kali temple is situated in “Bengali Tola” locality an area in Devenathpura Varanasi. The temple is eminently known as “Shava Shiva” by the locals.
Now, let’s go 230 years back. There was a king lived in Nadia district of West Bengal named “ Maharaja Shri Krishna Chandra” his religious guru named “Shri Chandrashekhar Sharma” was a great and famous seeker (Tantra Sadhak). He was the man who laid the corner stone of the temple in 1789.
The temple owing to its unique specialties draws thousands of devotees from India and the world, the idol is installed towards the south and the goddess is seated on the Panchmundi Aasan (used for Tantra Sadhna). The “Gauri Shiva Linga” is situated to the north of the idol and also Shri Mahakaal Bhairav situated with divine mother.

During every Amavasya, local priests conduct offerings to the residing goddess. Chandi path, Sahastra path and Yagya are carried on endlessly. During the period of Navaratri special offerings to the goddess, Chandi Path, Yagya are also conducted relentlessly. The temple also witness holder of devotees who come from far and rear everyday offer their prayers to the divine goddess and seek her blessings. They also participate in the daily aarti and hope to spend their lives under the divine grace and with the blessings of the mother.

Hariyali Sringar of Maa Shava Shiva Kali celebrated in the month of Sawan by hindu calender. Where devotes decorated the whole mandir with flowers and lights for celebrating greenary.
Dev Deepawali is one the biggest festival of the ancient city Varanasi where thousands of diya's are used to decorate Ganga Ghats. This festival is also celebrated in Shava Shiva Kali Mandir.
It is the celebration of the yearly menstruation course of goddess Kamakhya. It is believed that the presiding goddess of the temple, Devi Kamakhya, the Mother Shakti, goes through her annual cycle of menstruation during this time stretch.
Navaratri is a Hindu festival that spans nine nights (and ten days) and is celebrated every year in the autumn.
Monthly Amavasya Puja was celebrated in Shava Shiva Kali Mandir where the Mahant of the temple done special puja for the devotes.
